About this grant
The Communications Network is an affinity group of foundation communications professionals whose mission is to improve the effectiveness and accountability of foundations by promoting and strengthening the strategic practice of communications in philanthropy. Through regular programs, annual conferences, publications, and a Web site, the network offers members and other philanthropic stakeholders the opportunity to learn about effective practice as well as emerging trends. In 2008-2009, the Communications Network intends to: (1) increase membership from 200 to 300; (2) develop and promote a series of standards in foundation communications; (3) conduct an initial benchmarking survey to determine the current state of communications practice in foundations; (4) offer high quality learning opportunities through annual conferences, webinar series, and a revamped Web site; (5) develop an evaluation toolkit; and (6) conduct a study on improving foundation communications through new digital technologies.
