About this grant
This grant will enable the Indianapolis Private Industry Council to pilot a comprehensive career and technical education effort for vulnerable youth. Through the Indust-REAL project, the grantee will partner with Ivy Tech Community College, employers, and other workforce community partners in designing an effort by which students who have dropped out of high school can work toward a diploma or GED and earn industry-recognized occupational certificates and college credits. The Indust-REAL project will provide students with the opportunity to complete an accelerated, industry-based, post-secondary training program; develop job-readiness/retention skills; participate in job-shadowing activities; and secure employment in a series of in-demand and regionally based occupational tracks.
