About this grant
The Indian Law Resource Center a nongovernmental organization working to promote the interests of indigenous peoples from around the world since 1978. This renewal grant will support the grantee’s efforts to promote strengthened safeguard policies at multilateral development banks that are consistent with international legal standards and increased transparency and accountability to ensure that environmental and social protections are upheld and respected. A key goal of this project is to shift financing away from unsustainable infrastructure and energy projects that are likely to cause irreversible and irreparable harm to the environment, by promoting the participation and interests of indigenous and other local communities whose lives and livelihoods depend on the health of these ecosystems.
