About this grant
The Indian Law Resource Center is a preeminent nongovernmental organizations based in the United States and working since 1978 to promote the interests of indigenous peoples from around the world. This renewal grant will support the grantee’s efforts to promote strengthened safeguards at international financial institutions and increased transparency and accountability to ensure social and environmental protections are respected. A key goal of this project is to shift development finance away from unsustainable energy and infrastructure projects that are likely to cause irreversible harm to the environment by promoting the participation of indigenous and local communities in decisionmaking about development in sensitive ecosystems on which they depend.
