About this grant
This grant will provide support to the Hurley Foundation, and its supported organization the Hurley Medical Center, for a feasibility study for developing a medical school in Flint, Michigan. Founded in 1908, Hurley Medical Center is a 443-bed, public, nonprofit, teaching medical center affiliated with academic institutions such as Michigan State University, the University of Michigan, Mott Community College, and Henry Ford Health System. With more than 35,000 healthcare sector jobs in Genesee County, the sector is poised to be an economic driver for the region. This planning grant will help support a potential source for jobs and economic growth in Flint.
