Providence New Day for Learning

About this grant

This grant will support the Providence After School Alliance to work in conjunction with the Providence Public School District to support and evaluate a citywide afterschool and expanded learning initiative. This project seeks to build upon the New Day for Learning initiative which was focused on a citywide model integrating afterschool, student support services, and community schools. Specifically, the grantee will: 1) implement a joint assessment and evaluation plan to document best practices and policies on an integrated citywide model; and 2) disseminate best practices to afterschool and expanded learning stakeholders. This project will provide policymakers and practitioners with tangible, visible examples of the value of strengthening the linkages between community schools, afterschool programs, and education.
