About this grant
This grant will provide partial support to the Center for Rural Affairs for its Rural Microenterprise Development project, which will work to ensure the long-term existence, expansion, proper execution, and awareness of the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program, which was established by the 2008 Farm Bill. The grantee will provide training, technical assistance, and small loans to rural small business owners. During the course of the grant period, the grantee will conduct outreach work, engage grassroots leaders as to the potential of microenterprise, submit formal comments on how to improve proposed regulations, and assist rural small businesses to develop strong proposals for funding.
