About this grant
The program goal is to stimulate greater public participation in decisionmaking and community building in five counties in eastern Croatia. During the grant period, the Community Foundation Slagalica will provide grants, organize training, raise public awareness about civic responsibility, and promote local philanthropy. The grantee will attract individual and corporate donors and design grantmaking programs that target youth and marginalized groups in local communities. During 2015–2016, the grantee awarded over 60 grants in local communities in eastern Croatia. The grantee also assisted various government ministries to administer and monitor more than 50 grants; promoted philanthropy by working in 13 schools through lectures, exhibitions, and mentoring; organized an annual award ceremony recognizing local, outstanding philanthropic activities; and organized local events as part of the national Philanthropy Week campaign. The grantee is based in Osijek and works in five counties in eastern Croatia.
