About this grant
The program goal is to support the community foundation movement in Romania. To this end, Association for Community Relations, in partnership with the Romanian Federation of Community Foundations, will provide funding and technical assistance to strengthen the 16 existing community foundations in Romania. In addition, the grantee will initiate and support the development of new community foundations in at least four locations over the next three years by promoting the community foundation concept, assisting local groups during the registration process, and providing funding and technical assistance to the newly established community foundations. The grantee will also create a pool of local and international experts and practitioners to work with Romanian community foundations on issues of effectiveness and sustainability and will strengthen the links between the Romanian and European community foundations movements. During the previous two years, the grantee helped to establish three new community foundations and supported six initiative groups to explore community foundation development. The grantee also supported the development of local philanthropy and individual giving. The grantee is based in Cluj-Napoca.
