About this grant
The grant provides support for capacity building to the National Organization on Disability. A recently approved strategic plan identifies three organizational priorities for capacity building: board development, fundraising, and communications. Over the next three years, the board will be expanded with new members from diverse skill sets and backgrounds. Further, senior executives will be hired to manage budgets and diversify sources of funding. Finally, a director of communications will be hired to develop a communications strategy, redesign the organization’s Web site, and produce newsletters and other materials for policymakers in government, foundation, and business sectors. Founded in 1982, the organization’s mission is to expand the participation and contribution of America’s 54 million men, women, and children with disabilities in all aspects of life.
