About this grant
This renewal grant will provide general purpose support for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint. The organization, revived in 2004, now offers year-round afterschool activities for children aged 7-17 in two locations: the recently reopened Haskell Community Center and the former Sobey Elementary School. The grantee focuses on six areas of programming: family and community support services, educational support services, health services, creative/arts services, summer program support, and transportation services. This year, the grantee’s programming will include the coordination of national service volunteers at various nonprofits across Genesee County through the launch of its National Service Accelerator Initiative.
