About this grant
This grant provides support to the Foundation Center for the purpose of expanding its database on the finances of almost 2,000 of the nation’s largest foundations and for building a foundation benchmarking tool. This work builds on the Foundation Expenses Project, a Mott-supported, multiyear collaboration between the Foundation Center, the Urban Institute, and GuideStar. Through the Foundation Finances Project, the grantee will build upon that data and analysis to issue and disseminate a variety of informative, updated reports; create a flexible tool to enable grantmakers to benchmark themselves against their peers; and provide custom searches and database sets for associations of grantmakers. The Foundation Center is a national nonprofit service organization dedicated to fostering public understanding of the foundation field by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects.
