Race to the Top-Michigan - Michigan Department of Education

About this grant

This grant will support the Council of Michigan Foundations in its effort to partner with Learning Point Associates to assist the Michigan Department of Education and the Governor’s Office in the development of applications and related work for the Race to the Top federal grant competition for states. Specifically, the grant funding will support the development and/or implementation of four initiatives including: the Michigan Integrated Education Reform Plan; applying for Race to the Top funding; state and local Race to the Top policy evaluation; and support to districts applying for competitive funds. If federal funding is awarded, it is predicted that this plan will jump-start Michigan’s economy with a cadre of college- and career-ready graduates as well as position the state as an education reform leader in a new age.
