This renewal will support ongoing scientific monitoring of environmental and social impacts of energy and infrastructure investment by the Brazilian Development Bank in the Amazon rainforest, with a specific focus on compliance with social and environmental standards for the Belo Monte hydropower project. The Instituto Socioambiental is a Brazilian public interest nonprofit organization focused on integrated solutions to environmental and social challenges in the region.
