About this grant
This project will produce case studies on two important watersheds in South America, where the Brazilian National Development Bank has significant existing and planned investments in infrastructure and energy projects. The information generated by the case studies will inform a strategy for engaging the Brazilian National Development Bank in developing policies for sustainable investments and increasing transparency and accountability in its lending practices. The Instituto Socioambiental is a Brazilian public interest nonprofit organization formed to develop integrated solutions to social and environmental problems. This project will build on more than a decade of field work and relationships with other key environmental organizations and networks in the region.
