About this grant
The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Project recruits and trains law students to provide free assistance to unemployed workers who are filing unemployment claims and to those whose claims for unemployment benefits have been denied. The area of service is focused on Southeastern Michigan (including Genesee County), where a majority of Michigan’s jobless workers live. By assisting these individuals in obtaining unemployment insurance benefits, the organization helps struggling families, stressed communities, and Michigan’s economy.
