About this grant
Even though the southeastern United States is often thought of as water-rich, it can be a challenge in the region to secure sustainable water supplies for healthy aquatic ecosystems and adequate sources of freshwater for society. American Rivers, a national conservation organization with a strong presence in the region, promotes the adoption and implementation of policies that sustain river flows for human and ecological needs, advocates for water efficiency solutions, and encourages water conservation planning at the regional, state, and local levels. The grantee works with partner organizations in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This renewal grant will allow American Rivers to continue this important work as the region faces ongoing and emerging water issues and challenges.
