About this grant
The Nonprofit Employment Data Project is a collaboration between the Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Civil Society Studies and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics that charts nonprofit employment, wages, and finances over time and in relation to other industries. Past results include the publication of a comprehensive national report based on nonprofit employment data over 1999-2009 and several state-level reports. Last year the grantee launched a user-friendly, interactive database called Nonprofit Works —which provides nonprofit employment data through 2012. During the upcoming 18 months, the center and bureau will work to develop and input 2015 data into Nonprofit Works. The center will also market the database and take steps to enhance its long-term sustainability. Johns Hopkins University is one of America’s premier research universities. The Center for Civil Society Studies seeks to improve the understanding and effective functioning of not-for-profit, philanthropic, or civil society organizations.
