About this grant
This grant will provide partial support to Grantmakers for Effective Organizations, an organization focused on increasing the effectiveness of nonprofits and grantmakers by promoting and advocating for the use of philanthropic resources to advance nonprofit organizational effectiveness. Through the Scaling What Works project, the grantee will serve as convener, liaison, and information broker between the White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation, the Corporation for National and Community Service, and the field of philanthropy. The grantee will work to build partnerships between philanthropy and government to support the successful implementation and strategic direction of the $50 million federally funded Social Innovation Fund — a new public-private investment vehicle designed to reduce poverty and inequities by increasing economic opportunity; preparing America’s youth for success in school, work, and citizenship; and promoting healthy lifestyles and reducing the risk factors that can lead to illness.
