About this grant

The program goal is to strengthen the capacity of national associations of civil society organizations globally. The Affinity Group for National Associations, an initiative of CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation, accomplishes this through convening, coordinating, information-sharing, skills building, and networking activities. Over the next two years, the grantee will convene annual and regional meetings of the national associations; develop a resource guide for national associations and their members to be used for workshops and trainings; organize peer learning exchange visits; provide back-office support to regional networks of national associations; help national associations with developing membership strategies; provide advice on working with governments; and create communities of practice on issues of legitimacy, transparency, and accountability. The affinity group currently has 60 members from around the world. CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation is an international alliance established in 1993 to strengthen citizen action and civil society worldwide.
