About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen the capacity of national associations of civil society organizations globally. The Affinity Group of National Associations, a network which currently has 87 members from around the world, is managed by CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation. Over the past two years the network convened and nurtured regional subgroups, fostered solidarity within the network, maximized the exchange of opportunities and resources, better aligned the network with CIVICUS initiatives, and developed capacities and shared knowledge. Over the next two years, the network’s goals are to strengthen the role and services of the network as an effective global hub for national associations, to facilitate exchanges for better solidarity and interconnectivity between national and regional associations, and to strengthen the legitimacy and accountability of the network. CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation is an international alliance established in 1993 to strengthen citizen action and civil society worldwide.
