About this grant
The Michigan Environmental Council is a leading statewide organization committed to protecting freshwater ecosystems. Previous support allowed the grantee to address a range of water policy issues, including implementation of the Great Lakes Compact and Clean Water Act and preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species. With this grant increase, the grantee will examine ways to broaden its freshwater protection programs to address the drinking water management challenges facing communities in Michigan.
