About this grant

This grant will provide ongoing support to the Fair Food Network’s Double Up Food Bucks Project at the Flint Farmers’ Market. The project provides supplemental nutrition assistance program recipients with incentives to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at farmers’ markets and vegetable stands in Michigan. In addition to increasing access to healthy foods, the project aids local farmers in reaching more diverse markets. The Flint site is part of a statewide replication initiative, as well as a larger effort to embed fresh food incentives into federal food assistance policy.
