About this grant

This grant will provide additional support to the Fair Food Network’s Double Up Food Bucks Project in Flint. The project provides incentives to supplemental nutrition assistance program recipients to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables and dairy products at the Flint Farmers’ Market and grocery stores in Flint. Good nutrition, especially foods high in iron, calcium, and vitamin C, can help mitigate the impact of lead exposure to Flint children and adults. The project will engage in a strategic marketing campaign to encourage all eligible families to enroll in the program, increase usage of incentives, and provide reliable nutrition information to Flint area families.
