About this grant
The purpose of this grant is to increase the affordability of fresh produce to Genesee County families receiving food assistance from the state of Michigan. Fair Food Network, in partnership with the Flint Farmers Market, will replicate the Double Up Food Bucks project launched last year at Detroit’s Eastern Market. Local families receiving supplemental nutrition assistance program funds will receive a dollar-for-dollar match when purchasing food with their cash assistance card at the Flint Farmers Market. This project is part of a larger initiative supported by Open Society Institute to alleviate poverty in Michigan.
