About this grant
This grant contributes to the Monica Patten Endowment Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundations of Canada’s All for Community Endowment Fund, which is a permanent endowment established in 2008 to provide income to help offset the organization’s operational costs. The grantee: 1) supports established and developing community foundations in their endowment building and donor services, grantmaking, and community leadership; 2) promotes and advances philanthropy and community foundations; and 3) models philanthropic leadership in Canada and internationally. Retiring Chief Executive Monica Patten has led Community Foundations of Canada since 1993, during which time she built the organization from a group of 28 community foundations to a strong and vibrant national network of more than 170 community foundations across Canada. The Monica Patten Endowment Fund has been established by Community Foundations of Canada’s board of directors in tribute to Ms. Patten’s 17 years of extraordinary service and leadership.
