About this grant

A project of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, the National Service Fund will help the Greater Flint area take better advantage of federal funds provided by the Corporation for National and Community Service by providing matching grants to eligible public charities and governmental units for the recruitment, selection, training, and ongoing support of national service participants working in the Flint area. The matching funds will provide a much-needed boost of human capital to tackle significant challenges in the areas of education, public safety, health, and the environment. The fund will be supported by the Flint National Service Accelerator, a project of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint, which includes a full-time coordinator working to integrate AmeriCorps members into organizations throughout the Flint area.
