About this grant
The Community Foundation of Greater Flint was created in 1988 with the merger of the Flint Public Trust and the Flint Area Health Foundation. Through discretionary grantmaking, the grantee focuses on the areas of literacy, neighborhoods, healthy food, and advancing philanthropy. Additionally, donor-advised funds, scholarships, special initiatives, and other donor vehicles contribute to local nonprofits each year. The Flint National Service Accelerator Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Greater Flint in partnership with the United Way of Genesee County, helps Flint area agencies leverage state and national service members through the Corporation for National and Community Service and its affiliates. Matching grants provide resources to local nonprofit agencies for the required member cost share, training, and travel reimbursement.
