About this grant
The project goals are to promote constructive youth activism, provide civic education, and engage young people in the work of civil society organizations in Kosovo. Through this project, the Initiative for Progress will further develop its School of Activism, which is designed to provide young people with the skills and confidence needed to become active citizens in their communities. During the grant period, approximately 400 young people will participate in the school. Following each session of school, participants will engage in community activities that address a pressing need or issue. The grantee will assist participants to organize these activities. During 2013-2014, more than 400 young people of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities, including young people from Kosovo’s Serbian community, participated in the school. Sessions of the school were organized in 14 municipalities, including many small, rural communities, where young people do not have many opportunities to be active. In addition to theoretical courses, trainings, and workshops, participants engaged in follow-up activities organized by the grantee. The grantee is based in the city of Ferizaj.
