About this grant
This grant will help Public/Private Ventures stabilize its current fiscal situation and implement a new business model focused on helping practitioners better develop and use performance and evaluation data within their programs. The organization experienced significant financial pressure as a result of the downturn in the economy and was forced to begin making significant structural reforms including reductions in its workforce, renegotiating its office space lease, and outsourcing. Despite its significant efforts, the grantee is still projecting a shortfall in 2011 and 2012. Following Mott’s lead pledge, several other foundations have pledged nearly $1.1 million to help this key partner in program evaluation to implement its reform strategy. This new core support will allow the organization to focus on executing research and demonstration projects in the areas of youth development, criminal justice, and workforce development.
