About this grant
The program goal is to build the capacity of a Londonwide community foundation to raise funds from wealthy individuals and the business community. To this end, the Mott Foundation supports salary costs related to the London Community Foundation’s development activities. Due to increased development efforts initiated in 2011, the grantee grew its endowment significantly and increased its grantmaking capacity and ability to respond to community needs. Additionally, the grantee raised its profile through events, marketing, and social media. During 2015-2017, the grantee will continue to attract new fundholders and donors, grow its endowment, and build the profile of the organization. The London Community Foundation was created in 1995 as the South East London Community Foundation. In 2005, the grantee changed its name and its area of benefit to the whole of London.
