About this grant
Given the growing importance of emerging market countries, such as Brazil and China, in the global financial system, there is a need for civil society in these countries to play a greater role in shaping international development policies. This project is an effort to develop a network of nongovernmental organizations from emerging market countries. This new network will address financing for renewable and low-carbon energy for the poor in developing countries as well as undertaking related actions to address climate change. This grant increase will support a meeting with NGO representatives from the key emerging market economies to finalize a long-term vision and five to ten-year work plan for the network.
