About this grant

The Great Lakes Environmental Law Center was established in 2008 as a not-for-profit environmental organization with a mission to protect the Great Lakes ecosystem. With prior support, the grantee helped prevent pollution and maintain water levels in Great Lakes waterways by evaluating permit applications; analyzing water quality policies; and working with state agencies to ensure proper implementation of freshwater programs. With renewed support, the grantee will continue this work and also partner with citizens groups in southeastern Michigan to increase local engagement on high priority Great Lakes’ efforts.
