About this grant

Michigan United Conservation Clubs is the largest statewide conservation organization in the nation. Its membership includes over 40,000 hunters, anglers, trappers, and conservationists. With previous support, the grantee facilitated coalition efforts to reduce hydroelectric facilities’ impacts on downstream water quality and water flows. With renewed support, the grantee will continue monitoring hydroelectric operations and engage in other freshwater policy reform opportunities in Michigan, such as those related to open-net aquaculture. The grantee will also develop a report showing the economic benefits of hunting, fishing, and trapping in Michigan.
