Earn & Learn Initiative Cross-Site Documentation and Networking

About this grant

The Earn & Learn Initiative is an education, training, and subsidized employment program that will help low-income youth — particularly young minority males and former prisoners re-entering the workforce — solidify basic skills while attaining credentials with labor market value. This grant will enable the Corporation for a Skilled Workforce to support implementation of the initiative by helping to identify, synthesize, and disseminate information that enhances program impact through accelerated adoption of effective practices. To accomplish this goal, the grantee will provide technical assistance to and coordinate learning across the Detroit, Flint, and Saginaw program sites. The Earn & Learn Initiative is being implemented in partnership with the state of Michigan, local workforce development agencies, and regional and national grantmaking organizations, including the Open Society Foundations.
