About this grant
The program goal is to facilitate knowledge exchange and foster relationships between community philanthropy practitioners from around the world. Through travel support scholarships, this grant will provide the opportunity for 14 community philanthropy practitioners from Australia, Brazil, India, Ireland, Kenya, Latvia, Mexico, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Singapore, and South Africa to participate in the June 2013 Community Foundations of Canada biennial conference. Community Foundations of Canada is a national membership association of 184 community foundations. Its conference will bring together over 650 staff, board members, and volunteers from community foundations and other philanthropic organizations, mostly from Canada and the United States. Broader international participation will enrich the conference, and most of the scholarship recipients will have presentation roles in various sessions and events. Scholarship recipients will also participate in a consultation meeting to determine the goal, scope, format, timing, and other broad features of a future global symposium on community foundations.
