About this grant
The program goal is to increase constructive and active civic engagement in the development of human rights, tolerance and respect, and other democratic values and practices in Serbia and the region. To this end, the project supports the institutional and programmatic development of the Center for Cultural Decontamination, a long-standing, independent civic and cultural center in Belgrade, Serbia. The grantee is well-known for its promotion of democratic values through performances, exhibitions, concerts, public discussions, lecture series, and other informal educational activities. With Mott Foundation support in 2013-2015, the grantee improved its communication and dissemination capacities in order to increase accessibility of its programming and resources by a broader audience throughout Serbia; strengthened staff, management, and governance structures; and carried out an assessment and strategic planning exercise. During 2015-2017, the grantee will improve the quality and impact of its online presence; develop a long-term risk management and organizational development plan; and increase capacity for monitoring, evaluating, and documenting programmatic activities.
