About this grant

This grant increase will support the Foundation Center’s six-year, $23.7-million capital campaign to position it as the leading research and data organization on global philanthropy. Specifically, the grantee will: 1) build a global data platform for philanthropy encompassing international data, standards and taxonomy, new forms of philanthropy, and knowledge products; 2) ensure that the grantee’s technology provides a strong foundation for its work via cutting edge applications and tools; and 3) empower donors with additional knowledge tools such as affinity group and regional association Web templates, advanced custom Web portals, and a new research portal. The investment plan also includes financing global philanthropy information centers, an internal venture fund, and physical space redesign. Established in 1956, the Foundation Center is dedicated to fostering public understanding of the foundation field by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects.
