About this grant
China has become one of the most important investment, finance, and trading partners for many developing countries. However, the impact of investments on ecosystems and community development in these countries has become a global issue. The Global Economic Governance Institute at Boston University has become a major source for research analyzing these impacts, particularly in South America. The institute will draw on its expertise to provide much needed research and help build the capacity of civil society and governments in South America and globally to address the impacts of Chinese investments. In addition, the institute will research China’s global investments in energy.
