About this grant

The Humanist Institute for Cooperation with Developing Countries-South Africa (commonly referred to as HIVOS-South Africa) is part of the Dutch-based nongovernmental organization, HIVOS-Netherlands, which was established in the 1950s and works in many countries around the world to alleviate poverty and build stronger civil societies. The aim of the Limpopo Legal Aid Cluster program is to assist advice offices in the Limpopo province to deliver improved services to their beneficiaries. The program focuses on five advice offices that work with farm and migrant workers and other vulnerable groups. Over the next two years, the grantee will train the five advice offices on skills including fundraising, strategic planning, board development, and financial management. It will also assist the advice offices to conduct outreach programs on farms, network with each other, and build a body of knowledge on matters that affect farm and migrant workers. This grant has been made possible by a partnership with Atlantic Philanthropies in support of the community advice office sector.
