About this grant
The Centre for Community Justice and Development was established in 2012 and works to further access to justice and to protect human rights through the law. The grantee supports 15 advice offices in rural parts of the KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa and provides them with financial and material resources. Advice offices provide legal advice and related services to poor people living in these areas. Past support enabled the grantee to support the 15 advice offices through training on topics including fundraising, financial management, administration, planning, reporting, providing back-up legal services, and collating their cases through a central case management system. The grantee also assisted six of the advice offices to raise funds successfully. This grant will enable the grantee to continue to support the 15 advice offices toward greater independence and assist them to raise funds independently to secure their sustainability in the long term.
