About this grant
The program goal is to support the development of community foundations in Hungary. During the grant period, the Roots and Wings Foundation will establish six new community foundations; identify three additional Hungarian communities with potential to establish community foundations; strengthen the capacity of the initiative groups in these communities through training, consultancy, and international study visits; and increase the visibility of the Hungarian community foundation movement. The grantee will also create partnerships with nonprofit organizations and donors to secure the long-term future of its community foundation development program. In addition, the grantee will strengthen its own organizational capacity and financial sustainability. During the past grant period, the grantee identified and supported six initiative groups interested in establishing community foundations in their localities; strengthened the organizational capacity of the first community foundation in Hungary, the Ferencvaros Community Foundation in Budapest; and launched a national communication campaign to promote the achievements of the Hungarian nonprofit sector. The grantee is based in Budapest, Hungary.
