About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen community foundations globally. This grant supports planning activities and implementation of a global summit on community philanthropy. Momentum for an event similar to a global symposium on community foundations, held in Berlin in 2004, has been building among leading global community philanthropy development organizations over the past several years. Such an event will raise the profile of community philanthropy, provide a platform for knowledge exchange, and energize the global community philanthropy field. Project activities will include establishing and conducting summit planning and coordination processes, program development, a communications strategy, funding and partnership development, and managing the event itself. The Global Fund for Community Foundations is a global, grassroots grantmaker seeking to promote community foundations and other local philanthropic institutions in the Global South and in the emerging economies of Central and Eastern Europe.
