About this grant
The program goal is to strengthen community foundations globally. This grant increase supports the preparation and execution of the Global Community Philanthropy Summit. The aim of the event is to raise the profile of community philanthropy, provide a platform for knowledge exchange, and energize the global community philanthropy field. The summit will take place on December 1-2, 2016, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Project activities include summit planning and coordination, program development, communications, funding and partnership development, advance research, and managing the event itself. This grant increase will provide additional support for research projects and bringing researchers to the summit. The Global Fund for Community Foundations is a global, grassroots grantmaker seeking to promote community foundations and other local philanthropic institutions in the Global South and in the emerging economies of Central and Eastern Europe.
