About this grant

Launched in March 2013 as a project of TechSoup and the Council on Foundations, NGOsource is an online equivalency determination service for international grantmaking that offers a centralized repository of equivalency determinations for foreign organizations. NGOsource streamlines cross-border philanthropy to the benefit of grantmakers and the international grantees they serve. Since its launch, NGOsource has processed almost 1,500 equivalency determination requests from 136 grantmaker members for organizations in 103 foreign countries, facilitating approximately $150 million in international grants. During this grant period, NGOsource will continue evolving into a viable social enterprise, forecasting it will reach full sustainability by early 2018. Activities will include: 1) expanding outreach to increase grantmaker adoption rates; 2) increasing the number of equivalency determinations in the repository; and 3) refining tools and processes to streamline product offerings. Founded in 1987 as CompuMentor, TechSoup helps nonprofits globally to obtain and use technology to heighten their impact.
