About this grant
The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Center on Wisconsin Strategy conducts research and helps implement integrated solutions for improving environmental sustainability across all sectors. One of the center’s signature efforts is the Mayor’s Innovation Project, a national learning network for mayors and their senior staff focused on assembling best practices in a wide range of policy areas relevant to cities, including infrastructure and water. With prior Mott support, the project researched ways in which cities in the Great Lakes region can better integrate their water management services to create greater efficiency, cost savings, environmental and social benefits, and ultimately, improved water quality. The project also coordinated a network of nonprofits working in the Great Lakes region that have similar aims. With continued Mott support, the project will produce materials summarizing their findings and provide technical assistance to targeted Great Lakes cities, while also maintaining the network of partner organizations.
