About this grant
The program goal is to support the development of strong and inclusive communities in Ukraine that are addressing the needs of internally displaced persons. The Ukrainian Women’s Fund will develop a model for supporting internally displaced persons at the community level in Ukraine based on a set of tools, procedures, trainings, and other activities. The grantee will test and refine this model based on work in four pilot regions in Ukraine and then disseminate it throughout the country. This project will strengthen the role of civil society not only in meeting urgent needs but in developing strategies for longer-term issues such as reconciliation and participation of internally displaced persons in community life. Founded in 2000, the Ukrainian Women’s Fund primarily helps women’s civic organizations to play an active role in the processes of democratization of society and to contribute to equality, justice, and respect for human rights.
