About this grant
This grant will provide general purpose support to CFLeads, a national network of domestic community foundations committed to building stronger communities through community leadership. The grantee mainly serves community foundations through its educational offerings: Community Leadership Networks, Executive Leadership Institutes, CEO visits, and Issue Networks. In the last year alone, the grantee worked with 333 individuals from 208 community foundations. It also provides technical assistance, research, and resource materials on best practices and convenes a biennial forum. In 2017-2018, the grantee will continue its educational, technical assistance, research, and informational offerings, specifically supporting issue networks in the areas of family economic security, equity, and links with Latin American community foundations. Established in 1991 as the Coalition of Community Foundations for Youth, CFLeads changed its name and focused its work on community leadership in 2006. Established as a supporting organization of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, CFLeads will become an independent nonprofit organization in 2017.
