About this grant

The Instituto de Energia e Meio Ambiente is a national Brazilian think tank with expertise in energy planning, electrical engineering, and environmental law and policy. This grant will provide support to the grantee to study the social, cultural, financial, and regulatory barriers to expansion and replication of renewable energy access for isolated communities. Pilot renewable energy access projects will be studied to ensure they are replicable on a large scale and prepared to be embedded in public policy and investment in Brazil and the Amazon.
