About this grant
Flint Riverkeeper was founded in 2008 by a diverse group of Georgians with the mission of restoring and preserving the habitat, water quality, and flow of the Flint River for the benefit of current and future generations and dependent wildlife. With prior Mott support, the grantee has worked to promote policy reforms that improve the management of river flows in the Flint system; establish a comprehensive land conservation plan for the watershed as a means to restore flows; and build the local constituency necessary to make such progress. With renewed support, the grantee will undertake similar efforts to improve flow restoration while continuing to develop new relationships and build organizational capacity.
